The CellSelector can be used alone or with the Microscope
Workstation and mounts on the microscope stage to allow you to:
- Deliver and withdraw picoliter volumes of fluid in precise locations
- Select and isolate a single cell, chromosome or particle
- Observe particle or cell transfer under the microscope (pipette tip
is easily seen through the objective lens)
- Move micropipette tip precisely using three remotely controlled, independent
thumb screws
- Change the chamber or chamber position by tilting the CellSelector back,
moving the chamber, and returning to the identical Z position without risk
of breaking the glass capillary or micropipette tip
- Collect and isolate optically trapped cells or particles (when used
in combination with the LaserTweezers module)
- Use disposable micropipettes made out of glass capillaries, commercially
available micropipette tips, plastic tubing, or metallic needles for liquid
or cell handling
- Precisely control fluid (no flexible tubing is used)
