This microforge is the replacement for the MF83 and resembles the MF900 in appearence (see below). The MF830 is designed for fire polishing patch pipettes in order to enhance the formation and stability of Giga Seals. Magnification is up to 500x.
This microforge is more flexible than the MF830 and is designed for the manufacture of micropipettes and micro-tools. The objectives supplied give a magnification of 50x and 100x using 10x eyepieces. An eyepiece graticule with horizontal and angled scale enhances the ability to manufacture pipettes for ICSI.
Two manipulators allow movement of the pipette and filament independently and the microscope can also be moved in three axis. The pipette holder may be removed from the manipulator in order to assist with changing the pipette.
If the MF900 is to be used for the fire polishing patch pipettes, the patch clamp optics set should be purchased also. This optics set comprises 15x eyepieces plus a 33x objective.
