PRIME TECH PMM-150FU PIEZO IMPACT DRIVE

·         High-resolution one dimensional patented linear piezo drive.

·         Single and multiple pulse modes.

·         Compatible with many 3-axis micromanipulators

·         Facilitates penetration of tough oolemma membranes maximising oocyte survival

The Prime Tech PMM-150FU uses the piezoelectric effect to generate linear vibrations of a micropipette holder in contact with the piezo element.  The finely controlled ‘stabbing’ motion of the micropipette assists penetration in otherwise difficult microinjection applications, reducing distortion of the oocyte membrane.  This limits trauma to the oocyte and ensures best possible survival rate following injection.

Since Prime Tech introduced its first piezo impact micromanipulation system in 1990 the company has been at forefront in producing and developing systems involving this technique.

The PMM has now become the system of choice for applications such as mouse nuclear transfer, ICSI and blastocyst injection. In operation the drive unit itself (MB-U) is mounted to a suitable 3-axis micromanipulator.  The standard AD-NE adaptor permits the unit to be mounted to most Narishige illumination support mounting hydraulic micromanipulators.  Other adaptors are available as accessories.

Controls on the OP-15 operation box enable two sets of speed and intensity conditions to be selected including single and multiple pulse modes.  The user can toggle between these two condition sets from the operation box or using the footswitch provided.
