Model MP-85

The Model MP-85 Micromanipulator manufactured by the Sutter Instrument Company is the J.R. Wall derivation of the classic Huxley design. The manipulator body is constructed of solid brass and is chrome plated. Micrometer holders are constructed of aluminium and are black anodized. The rotating base is machined from solid stainless steel with a brass spindle. A thin teflon membrane provides the bearing surface.

• Dual springing of the arms to insure zero backlash and zero torsion
• The manipulator is mounted on a precision rotating base, featuring a positive stop and lock.
• The coarse movement is German built, all cross-roller bearing design consisting of coarse X, Y, and Z with an additional fine X motion.
• Coarse X can be manually tilted 0-40 deg.
• Coarse resolution is 0.1mm on all axes.
• Fine X resolution is 0.01mm.
• Ultrafine (Huxley) resolution is 0.2 microns.
• The manipulator is a 'handed' design.
