Vibratome 600

The Vibratome 600 manual tissue chopper is an excellent economical solution for the simple slicing of tissue sections as small as 150 microns. The device provides for efficient sectioning of living brain tissue and other applications such as blocking of fixed tissue for histology, and in the slicing of electrophoretic gels. The tissue cutting is done with a standard double edged razor blade. Precise movements of the tissue are completed with the use of a millimeter micrometer head. In use the tissue is placed on the moistened filter paper and placed under the cutting blade. The cutting action is controlled by gravity and a spring for quick slices.
